hey guys, sure you get this all the time...but...You guys seem to know what your talking about! I have this coin and the origin is bugging the hell out of me. Anyone got any ideas of its origin and value (if any!) http://www.auctionpix.co.uk/users/wig774276.jpg http://www.auctionpix.co.uk/users/hon774277.jpg Many thanks Dean
It is indeed a Russian 3 kopeks coin from the reign of Czar Nicolas I. There are 2 different mint marks for this coin (I cannot make it out in your pictures), below the date. It will be either EM (Ekaterinaburg) mintage 3½ million VG=US$2, F=US$4, VF=US$7.50 or BM (Warsaw) mintage 100 thousand VG=US$4, F=US$7.50, VF=US$15
EM is the mintmark of the Ekaterinburg mint.Ekaterinburg was where Czar Nicholas II & his family were murdered by the Bolsheviks in 1918. Aidan.
