Here's another new one that I picked up a month or so ago. It's a 2003 A $1.00 from Cleveland Ohio. The front of the bill is completely on the back side with the back side. Looks like I cut the bill off on the right side in the photo. Sorry about that.

Be very carefully when buying front to back ink transfers, they are counterfeited a lot. It is hard to pick out a fake due to the advances in scanners and printers. Black ink is hard to distinguish between real and copy machine over print. The back to front transfers are harder to counterfeit due to the problem in matching the green ink color. I am not saying yours is not real, just be careful. Fake overprints usually do not show good line quality, and look more like a bunch of dots. Check the line quality on the front with the back transfer. Even after the ink starts to get lighter as the successive printing sucks up the ink, the line quality mostly remains.

Nice face-to-back offset error. It’s also a good example of what collectors call registration, which is the centering of the back printing within the borders of the face printing. You can see this on notes by viewing them against a bright light source.

Thanks, I'm very much aware of this. This was purchased from a dealer that I've dealt with for a long time. They are extremely reputable so I have no thoughts that this is not the real thing.

Thanks, I got this one right in my terminology. Not as rushed today. I have several other bills to post at future dates.

Here is one of mine just for comparison.

Notice how much sharper the engraving from the front is.

Here's a closeup of the bill. Eadier to see the detail.

I would not have purchased that bill. To me the engraving is too blotchy or “dotty”. This could occur from a copying machine. Again, not saying your bill is not genuine, just not to my liking.

I did a quick search on Heritage for a similar example and took this screenshot. The pattern looks almost identical to the OP’s note. This note is in authenticated genuine in a PMG holder.

I was not suggesting that the OP's bill was not genuine. Just cautioning that bills that have been overprinted using copying machines also look like this. I have many notes that look like the one from HA, and are certified. I agree, buy certified if there is any question as to authenticity.
