OK, I'm in. Entry Post. I like that "Eastern Roman Empire: bronze Æ3 of Arcadius, ca. 395-408 AD; Antioch mint, Victory reverse". I reserve the right to donate to the next give away, pending reopening of the airmail postal service here! Now I will post something coin related, as I was supposed to do. This one may have come from the wreck of the Gardner, though I can not prove that. 1808 EIC X cash obv.JPG 1808 EIC X cash rev.JPG

Fantastic coin; never saw one. I like how the helmet evokes Macedonian small AEs of around the 2nd c. BCE. Good luck finding a good one!

I would pick the 1917-S(reverse mm) Walking Liberty. Even in lower grades, i still think this is one of the most beautiful coins the US has ever minted. To this day, whenever i find any while CRH'ing, it is like winning the lottery!

I'm trying to think of and come up with some cool ancient coin/history visuals and design for my wife (whose hobby is massing stuff on her Cricket cutter) to put on a shirt or something... Since a collecting area of mine is Punic Wars coinage and that of Carthage, I might be doing something of that nature and put it on a hoodie.

Here is a pic of a miniature JFK half dollar. Paid 35¢ for it a long, long time ago.
I think it is a DDO!

I like the expression “Variety is the spice of life”, particularly as it relates to coin collecting. As a young lad, my (maternal) grandparents nurtured my early interest in coins by letting me rifle through the coins in the cash register of their country store beginning in about 1955. I was able to ultimately fill several album holes and then continue U S coin collecting. Also, grandpa gave me a 1907 Canadian half dollar that he recalled being given him as part of a purchase by a Canadian tourist.

Through the years, I have broadened my collecting interest into world coins, begun by the Canadian half. (I discovered years later that my paternal great grandmother was born in Canada.)

Now, numismatic collecting interests have evolved to ancients, U S and world tokens and metals, colonial coins, civil war tokens and store cards, U S large cents as a specialty, U S and world paper money.

Lastly, I had the opportunity to purchase a nearly complete three volume set of with many thousands of stamps, volumes dated 1930 of world stamps ( 1840’s to 1930) at a quick turnaround price from my local coin shop and did not hesitate after a thorough review.
A large percentage of my collection comes from junk box purchases locally and in my business trips. The finds have been interesting since I have not pigeonholed myself into a single specialty in the last 65 years of knowledgeable collecting interests.

I bet it would be fun to look through your collection. I also have many different types of coins, with a few areas of specialty.

I continue to be floored by the Lord's generosity - with time and materials. You are very appreciated!

If by the off chance I should win, I think I'd like your BU Maria Theresa 1780 re-strike. I have neither the original nor the re-strike.

As for coin related discourse, I don't know how many of you get involved with swapping coins online via Numista, but I just engaged in a swap with a Barbadian-related gentleman up in Washington (the state) that blew me away. The coins he swapped with me were graded, by him, as UNC and AU. Of course, based on prior experience with swaps on Numista, I was skeptical. However, upon receiving the coins from him, I was stunned. I felt bad, in fact. I try to grade fairly; something between technical and market. And I always try to provide pictures. But my swap-able coins were not as in fantastic condition as those I got from him. Maybe one or two was 'worth' more based on market grading (primarily because of rarity, I think), on a coin-per-coin swap, I feel got the best of the trade. He wouldn't even take more of my swap coins when I asked him to. Ajbbarbados is someone on Numista you should consider swapping with if you are so inclined to swap.

For example, here's a bonus coin he threw in because of my screw up with the condition of a one coin and final inclusion of a few identical types in our swap.

It's been a minute since I've messaged my friends at cointalk. Have had family members in bad health. I've located a 1940 nickle but left in another location . Anything in particular I should look for? Thanks in advance. Entry post!
