Does anyone know where to find a good video on how coins are minted today? That really shows the process, step by step.
Roger Burdette's book, From Mine to Mint, goes into great detail for the period, 1833-1937, from acquiring the precious metals to distributing the coinage. It's a great read for the history buff and "technocrat". ~ Chris
Thanks. Kind of expensive on Amazon There must be a video somewhere where you can actually see the process. But I Googled and couldn't find squat. I thought that was odd.
I've found several videos on YouTube. About the only thing it's good for. Well, that and car crash videos!
It's more than 530 pages. $40 for an autographed copy on Wizard isn't too bad. @Roger W Burdette is a member, here. ~ Chris
I don't have the link handy, but Coin Week has a couple good videos. I would also try the googling the US mint on youtube.
I can't find the link I'm thinking of, but here are some videos that might help. us mint video, how the minting process works
Over all, I found the music annoying and the feeble attempt to make the text look like old film stock distracting. I'd give this a grade of AG.
Odd. I found it on Amazon before but can't now. But I found Burnett's other books. Has anyone tried his Guide Books? Like for Peace Dollars or Walking Liberty half dollars? https://smile.amazon.com/Guide-Book...Burdette&s=books&sr=1-2&text=Roger+W+Burdette Do they give a lot more help in getting to know a series for collecting than the Deluxe Red Book?
The way those coins were 'manhandled', I'm pretty sure there were no MS-70 examples to be found by the time they hit the street
Seems the online store is sold out, but there are some available on Wizard's eBay store @ $39.00: https://www.ebay.com/itm/From-Mine-...326078&hash=item1a9d28a647:g:BVsAAOSw1HVfD1VW
