    StopMotion,
It is my understanding that all Silver Eagle Proofs have been minted in "W" Westpoint since 2001.

It depends on what year it was. For a period of time ASE Proofs were minted in Philadelphia, then some in San Francisco and now in West Point.

San Francisco from 1986 to 1992
    Philadelphia from 1993 to 2000
West Point from 2001 until ???

The Silver Eagle Company linked to by silvereagle82 is one of my favorites. I bought half a dozen world silver bullions coins from them, and they didn’t charge me for shipping.

Yeah, I decided to use them to buy a couple of things.
If you don't mind me asking, what form of payment did you guys use with this company? Paypal, MO, Check?
    Thanks,
    SM

At 10.50 a coin I would ship free to... But he is a dealer so you have the saftey of that otherwise I have gambled on EBAY and yet to lose, the rolls I bought from folks on there have gone from 150 to 180 and 180 is about the most I am willing to pay, yeah I know I am cheap.

I second Mr. Sushi's comment -- I'll ship all you want for more than $3.25 per ounce over spot. I suppose it is a little less convenient to make a trip to your local dealer, but for most of us (I suspect), that is a fun trip and not a chore. It varies, but over the past year or so I think I've gotten most of my ASEs from the dealer near me for maybe $1.75 to $2.25 per ounce over spot. Worth the trip! (Be sure to call ahead to ask about pricing and to be sure your dealer has what you're after in stock.)

I bought most of mine from local dealers to help keep them around, but it's not cheaper. One dealer wanted $10, the other $11 for most of the ASEs.

I guess we should also mention the quantity issue. The price I mentioned ($1.75 to $2.25 per ounce above spot) was generally for purchases of 20 or 40 ASEs at a time (I usually buy a tube or two at a time). Buying a single ASE, $3 or even $4 above spot sounds pretty common, and indeed, reasonable. In the other direction, many dealers will give price breaks (lower premium per ounce over spot) at higher quantities (say, at 100 or 500 ounces).

I just happen to be in a good place finacially at the moment and to boot I am really cheap so I have calculated out that if I buy a box and sell off what I dont want I can make the ones I do keep really cheap. It is going ok, not sure I would make a business of it just keep it a hobby.

If anybody saw the Proof ASE in the Bower and Merena Auction Catalog for the ANA show--I was wanting to bid on them but then I saw online that they were at $300 and the auction hasn't even started!!!!

Wish mine would look like that--
There are a few nice photos on page 5...
