What are the diagnostics for an improperly annealed error? The rim is affected or unaffected by color? What about the rim edge? How do you differentiate from toning or environmental damage? This dollar was not found by me, but I find it odd that the rim is unaffected by color. How could that happen?
Most of these dollars show common circulation toning. If the edge looks different it's because of the way it was handled. I will try to find info on Improperly Annealed Presidential dollars when I get a chance In the meantime here is one attributed by NGC from my collection
The guy said he found it in a Mint roll, but it came from a third party, so maybe it's a little circulated. What do you think?
It looks circulated but not much. Also looks like a die crack from the rim, on the right side of the E in GEORGE and through his forehead.
