I know the picture is really bad (I obviously didn't take it ;)) and a number of assumptions will need to be made - but for an under-ink as significant as this what would an approximate value be?

The owner does not plan on selling and I have not seen it in the flesh. I am going to give them a small note holder to at least protect it a bit.

Thanks for your thoughts on this note.

    Darryl...

try to get better images of the note (reverse as well) is it 2 sided meaning front and back are the same? Or is it fully printed on the reverse??

Very nice and probally very unique! I would send it in to PMG for grading/authentification and then seek a reputable auction house if the owner wanted to sell it.

I have the note in my hands - it is way cool! I'll post pictures later. It has been handled a bit but is in pretty good condition. Stand by for photos :)

    Better scans available?

    hey buddy,
condition is everything when pricing any note, errors in particular, so i would need either better scans or an accurate grade assesment to be in the right ball-park. this error in uncirculated grade would bring between $350.00 - $450.00 on any given day, put one fold in it, making it a technical AU, price would drop to about $200.00 - $250.00:eek:, so you can see my point. post some better scans oc both sides and we will go from there :smile:smile
    be well,
    lew

Darryl...submit that note to PMG for grading...

Perhaps a unique note you have there.
Did a search for these errors and have not found one like it!
    Maybe someone else knows more???

partial second print error, looks like it ran out of ink. I would put it about $250 - $300 in that condition

looks xf-ish, maybe au..... i hate to guess grades from scans.... even good scans, but that grade seems right, price would be in the $200 - $300.00 range. hope this helps

Is there enough embossing left from the second print that you can make out the signatures/series?

The serial number and the DC-sized back plate number narrow it down a bit, but there are still several choices: 2003A, 1995, 1988A, 1985, 1977A. (And the last of those can probably be eliminated because the plate number isn't four digits, too....)

I would assume it's a little older based on the owner. I asked my buddy to ask the owner if she remembers when she came across it.

I looked for any embossing both in hand and under a scope and could not pick anything up.

    Thanks for the info!

    Darryl
