Hi everyone, just dropping by from another forum. I see some familiar faces here.
Claims and counterclaims aside, this can be easily solved right? :)
Judging by cracks around the date, I think the coin in question most resembles the B-115 obverse--but I may easily be wrong here, thanks Conder.
That said, what of that pointed chin--how would the die go from that one coin to look like that? I think valid questions have been raised (imho).
    Cheers,
    Kurt

Yep, we are agreed... that's the area that looked like possible tooling.

I'm sorry if I offended you with my response. I based my response on 1) poor photos and 2) your story that you bought this heavily counterfeited coin cheap. If you did not want opinions that differ from yours then you should not have asked for opinions. Your personal attack on me shows your true character.

Now that I know how you operate I will try my best to avoid responding to your posts in the future. Have a nice day.

I would of been leery of it , definetly reworked on the obverse , no wonder the obverse has better details from the reverse .

That obverse was used for three different varieties B-26, 29, and 31. I don't know which marriage came last, and with the extensive obv cracks it would have to be the last die pairing. $incere linked to a variety on the Cardinal website and said that that was the exact match to his coin, which of course it isn't. The picture he linked is a B-26, the rarest of the three. I have not come up with images of B-29 or 31 yet.

The coin in question does appear to be tooled and/or damaged. The pictures are not good enough for me to say if it is real or not. If it is real it will get into a PCGS Genuine slab, but not a regular graded slab.

And if you knew anything about them, you wouldn't be asking others for help grading them. ;)

Remember LF, some peeps can easily grade a coin but stick it in here anyways to share with others and to show it off. ;) However, they shouldn't get irrate when we don't agree with their assessment.

What dealer did you take it to? I know all 3 in KC very well. Just wondering what they thought of this coin, and why are you so defensive? Tom

nice coin from what I can see. My main concern is that it looks to have been "plugged" at 3:00. It looks like there used to be a hole there. Something is definitely going on. Still, if real, it's quite a nicely detailed coin.:)

Absolutely that thing's been plugged. The surface is clearly disturbed in front of Liberty's face, her chin looks pointy, and look on the reverse, is it me or does it look like there's a HOLE next to the Eagle's wing?

Of course, not everyone may agree with me.
