I just went to the US Mint web site and kind of expected sale prices on their big "LAST CHANCE SALE". Is it just me or am I missing something. The prices look just the same as they did last week.
They ramped down the prices on most of the bullion items, except items they expect will sell out quick, those got little price INCREASES! A lot of the junque like 50 States Spoons etc. got priced downward too. Like anyone will buy that garbage.
The Mint is taking lessons on salesmanship from used car sales people. If you ask they'll probably say let me ask the manager about more discounts. Or we'll give you a rebate on the 2050 sets instead.
I was kind of wanting a mint set or another coin and die set, but the prices appeared to be the same or close to. Not the Sale I expected.
As I stated in another thread, usually clearance items are on clearance for a reason. That's why I didn't get too excited about it.
US mint had a similar clearance sale 12? years ago, there were lots of 1996 low mintage olympic coins available. That was a much better sale than this one.
That absolutely SUCKS! I needed the 2004 and 2006 Westward Journey nickel set and they sold out before I could order 'em. Now I am just stranded with my lone 2005 WJ set. And did they actually RAISE the price on the buffalos!?!?!? Great just great.
