I have two pennys both of them r 1975 plain both of them have an engraved marking on the obvers side one of them with the letters WY within a box the second coin has a marking that looks like a flag with the letters MD inside of the marking ,Are these ment marks from other states and do these have any value to them?, I do have pics if needed thanks look in the gallery just added the pics thanks
i have one with WI for wisconsin and the outlink of wisconsin stamped on a 1976 penny ill post up pics in the morning, my dad used to have a set of all 50 that were 1976 but after a house fire he only has the wisconsin one .... im interested in finding the other 49 for him, but wouldnt know where to start other then ebay
These are very common and they can be purchased at many truck stops as souvenirs. They are not Mint product. They sell for $1.00 or less on the road. Some have the Liberty Bell, some have Lincoln smoking a pipe or cigar, some have an outline of Kennedy etc. They are all novelty items. In dealer's bvoxes of loose items you can sometimes grab a few for 25cents each. Thanks, Bill
