I'll say this and then drop out of this thread, as I'm a relative newcomer here and you're an oldtimer with more cred than I have, and I feel more here will side with you than with me. Your first email was relatively mild, except for the Caps and multiple exclamations which are a negative flag. Your second email was the one which set the tone of everything that followed. It is both loud (caps), accusatory and threatening. Consider what you yourself would have done if you had received those two emails, following a transaction which you felt was on the up and up. A simple calm dialog usually gets better results.
My reply would have been send them back, I'll refund you no questions asked, shipping included. No questions asked period. Thats my policy. Not happy? You get your money back with no problems. The multiple explanations were on " thank you" if you look, this was after 11 days
I will agree that Jack's second email may have been slightly on the hard side...but misrepresenting a product is enough to deserve that IMHO. I probably wouldn't have been quite as stern with my first email about the condition of the coins in the hopes of resolving the problem and getting a refund, but if the seller was already being hostile (which I assume he was before that email #2 was sent) then there's what do you do. I'll bet Jack gave the seller the opportunity to give a refund before filing a paypal claim and "threatening" the seller.
When I read the 2 sets of email I can not see any comparison on the tone or threats. But if the outcome is satisfactory, who are we to keep whipping it? Probably most of it is from those States being jealous of the Western Desert  Jim
maybe for others, but those sents look brilloed, or maybe sand paper. My coin was just over dipped. Ruben
I would have to agree with Davidh's assessment completely. *2nd email I was P'd when opening the package) received today. These coins are NOT as described. They have been dipped and cleaned to appear uncirculated. There are not of any value. A refund is expected, these are not AT ALL as you described. I have reported this item to Ebay and filed a Paypal claim.* Dear ??????, I did receive the coins you sent to me and they were far beneath my expectation of their description, I Immediately repacked them the exact way you shipped them and would like to please ship them back for a refund. Sincerely, Donn ? ????? Contact Info Here you are still sternly asking for a refund and showing that you expect one, also you are laying the blame on the coins and are not directly attacking the person your dealing with. Just a Thought. Negativity X any circumstance = a Negative Result, Positivity X any circumstance *including a bad deal* = a Positive Result.
why not get on Ruben's bad side? He won't do anything about it. You are right, he is wrong, as he has asserted. [to him, the details are unimportant.]
That's gibberish. The details are in the photo's. I'm sure you see all those scratch all over the Lincolns. If no amount of evidence can be brought to bare on the discussion then its a waste to discuss. 5 coins with scratches all over it and pink in color... gee. Everyone must be idiots. Because this is supposedly to be expected. So - you know what. Show me 5 coins with these scratches from Heritage that are graded BU or even AU... Ball in your court... Ruben OH - and BTW - it is the email themselves which would light a fire and me, not the coins themselves. Trust me, you don't want to be on the wrong side of this kind of conflict with me. I once posted "wanted notices" on the telephone polls of someone who treated me like this, informing the entire neighborhood of the scums behaviors. Ruben
