    D-Cent,

The coin has been "Spooned" per say! Someone beat down the rim with a spoon or some sort of tool in an attempt to make it appear as an error or for some other unknown reason.

based on the rounding of the edges I would bet this coin has taken a lengthy ride in a commercial clothes dryer, beating the edges down and decreasing the diameter

    Just my opinion

    Hi,

It has not been spooned. Nobody spoons pennies. This coin is a "dryer coin" that tumbled in the fin of a commercial dryer for a time. That's it:)

    Thanks,
    Bill
