I'd say VG 8. The WE is not visible at all and the coin is pretty worn. I'd say its worth about $20.

 

I'll say "no grade" due to environment damage (corrosion).

Small motto with environmental damage. Net grade G4 but a decent G4 even with the damage.

Would small motto be what people are missing?

Yep even with that kind of damage ANACS would slab it G4 maybe even VG details and that puts the price significantly above the $20 quoted so far.

 

Shame about the damage but if you can pick up a small motto cheap enough I say go for it. Take it from a guy that has 11 of them.
My last was a no problem AG with TRUST visible. $30 so I jumped on it.

Yours I would give $80 or so. Nice pickup.

I am not very familiar with Two Cent pieces but I did notice the 'Small Motto'.

Did you cherrypick the variety?

 

Not cherry picked as such as the owner knew it was a small motto but Got a significant reduction in the price because of the corrosion.

My wife found this 1864 2 cent piece in a telephone booth about 40 years ago. Every few years she asks if I still have it. I dont have a scanner and the photos are the best I could get at this time. Thanks, Charlie
