I was fortunate to win an auction yesterday to acquire this coin. Obverse looks a bit better grade wise than reverse. Looks nice! You could call the obverse F12, but the reverse drags it down a bit, so I imagine VGsomething would be right for this one. Is it going anywhere for grading soon?

I haven't decided yet whether to send it. Good idea? Do you think it will straight grade?

If it is in a VG holder, that's where it belongs. It's a nice no problem coin, but I don't see an upgrade in its future.

I would send it in, simply because it's a relatively expensive coin that will be much easier to sell certified. Hard to rule out a details grade from the pictures. There are some hairlines on it that could be troublesome and could be nothing.

I see it as a VG to F although as noted can't be sure about old cleaning or surface patina being dipped away.

Variety is B-1 (or BB-21) an R-1 coin.
