    I have a question as a newby.

When I see "Uncirculated ....coin roll" and the coins are in a NF Strings and Son wrapper are they really uncirculated?

My bank will roll anything I give them in any roll I want;) So not necessarily.

Well after a little searching I discovered that those coins my or may not be uncuriculated...they maybe in uncirculated condition, but not from the mint uncirulated. Which leads to another question...Are "bank rolls" uncirculated?

Here's one more related question. If the wrappers say www.usmint.gov I can assume they are uncirculated.

When my bank runs out of change, they order boxes from their main branch; when the main branch needs to reup, I believe they order from the federal reserve. It is possible to receive a box of "brand new" coins from the bank from time to time. I've got a whole box of BU 2018 D pennies and nickels, and a friend got 500$ worth of 2018 NIFC Kennedy halves.

This looks better, but we'll need someone with more experience to chime in;)

These are just like Brinks boxes, etc. Near the beginning of a new year, they do roll coins from the mint that have never been circulated, however....They may have older coins mixed in as well, and you get many with roller marks, and dings all over them from their machines.

So what is the best way to buy Rolled coins from the Mint? I don't see them on the their site.

Brinks wrappers and Loomis wrappers are wrapped by them it's their branded wrappers.
Nf String wrappers is a rolling machine company that sell their branded wrappers also.

From my experience none of them are guaranteed to be BU just by the wrappers but you should be able to tell by the end coins condition and them being the same coins on both sides.

I've gotten 2019 BU boxes from the bank with 99% 2019 dated coin and then some random dates that were circulated of various years in the mix and one or 2 per roll. There's a good chance if it saus it's a BU roll it will be a BU roll of that year. But there is a chance it has stragglers in there that are circulated. Generally when they roll up new coin they are dumping the balistic bag of coin into the rolling machine and it's all the same but if someone left some circulated material in the machine or picked a handful off the rolling room floor.... the roll won't be solid BU.

It usually is though. Only way to know 100% is to open it and check.

Remember......Uncirculated is not a definition of where a coin has been.......it is the condition of the coin. So yes a BU roll of 2020 coins is most likely to be in uncirculated condition.

Yeah Beardigger is correct. "Uncirculated" just means no signs of wear from circulation, it can be toned or "not bright" let's say.
BU or "Brilliant Uncirculated" just means it has no signs of wear from circulation and has all its original mint luster, a shiny, new appearing, coin. Both can fall into the MS60-MS70 people avoid the "brilliant" term usually when it's aged Uncirculated coins, that have discolored somewhat at least on the ends of the rolls and they avoid using the term brilliant since people will say "these's aren't shiny, rip off!" lol

Back to the subject at hand. they can be uncirculated in a NF String wrapper. The coins should not show any signs of circulation wear if they are truly uncirculated.

Same goes for non branded wrappers. They also can be uncircualted.

The rolled coins from the mint aren't much better condition than the rolled coins from the bank in my experience. There's still the production and the transportation for them to be packaged, so there's still going to be contact mark's maybe a little less beat up? I dunno. I don't see much difference but if you pay the mint for a roll of uncircualted coins of a specific design, there's no question it will be that. With the bank rolls there can he "surprises" regardless of the wrappers occasionally.

Last year I ordered a box of dimes from my bank. They were all brand soaking new 2019's. So it does happen.
