Found in my 1965 Special Mint Set

    I picked up a 1965 Special Mint Set and found this. Hope it will help to explain some of the toning.:D

    The very same card was always included with any Proof set.

    The proof one says something about any scratches are on the bag and not the coins.

    The (not so) strange thing about this one is that it says there are 3 "new" clad coins. Yay introduction of junk money :hatch::headbang:

    I am reading this right , The Special Mint Set were struck at the San Francisco Mint. If I am, I have no "S' Mint marks on the coins. Please explain. Cheryl

    No mint marks were used 1965, 1966, and 1967. They were blaming the coin "shortage" on the numismatists. They did this to flood the market so the numismatists would not save them.
