I find the drama here rather humorous. I for one enjoy collecting silver rounds off various forms of art. Not really worried about future resell, cause I'm going to leave them behind for my kids when I move along to the great coin collecting space in the heavens above.
Wow, lots of replies. Thanks everyone. He's asking $9 for it, so from what everyone said, I'm going to pass. I think the artwork is cool, but I'd like my collection to have some value to it Nothing expensive but not too cheap. They should have made it as a Silver Round.
I don’t want the other responses to dissuade you. I personally collect only what I personally enjoy, regardless of resale value. I buy lots of foreign coins that I could never resell for even 10% if purchase price. Why? I LIKE THEM. That’s it. I enjoy holding them, I enjoy looking at them. For items under $20, I not concerned about resale value. I know I’ll never realize the $500 I’ve spend on foreign coins in a sale, BUT THATS OKAY. As I said. I personally like and enjoy my coins. Value is not a factor in my personal collection. here’s my advice to you in future collecting; if you spend less than $20 on any one single item, DO NOT WORRY about resale value. It will turn you into a bitter old man who only cares about making money. don’t turn your hobby into a job. Keep your hobby fun! most, if not all hobbies are money sinks. I spend a good amout of money getting my film professionally developed and processed. I will never be able to sell any of the photos - they’re just not good enough. however, the hundreds of dollars I’ve sunk into cameras, film, and processing are for my own personal enjoyment. I enjoy the whole process and I don’t care that I lose money. think of it like food. If I really like soursop fruit, I will pay big money. I will literally never make my investment back, but I enjoy the fruit so much I literally don’t care about “losing” money on the transaction. Don’t make your hobby an occupation.
