You are absolutely correct and there are MANY great dealers not in North America and it is a failing on my part that I don't know many. That is part of the reason for this posting.
Nailed it! A huge percentage of my Ancient coins are from overseas Sellers. However, I know them and trust them. I researched their reputation, and ensured that I had comfortable knowledge about the coins I targeted.
MA-Shops does not sell on eBay. And yes, I'm in the MA-Shops US office in Business Development. It has been and is helpful for me to learn from seasoned collectors and forums like this one to learn more about coins/currency, about what people are looking for, trends, concerns, etc. Any suggestions or helpful advice you can offer to me is appreciated!
What i do not like on MA-Shops is that some dealers present large numbers of the same low-quality coins month after month as new offer to get on top of the list again. Deters me from browsing the site.
@ma-shops I have purchased from MA several times and have never had any issue with service, shipping, or product! I just wish the search function was as detailed and as narrowing as, for instance, VCoins.
Since this thread is about buying on e-bay, your input is welcome and perhaps other members will respond to you.
I have purchased several coins from the various MA-Shop Dealers. I had NO problems with shipping, authenticity, or any other issues. The Sellers I dealt with were courteous, and easy to deal with. They are "overseas" to me, but the relationships I developed were seamless, just like they were the next town over from me. I feel this is a great venue.
Good to hear of your positive experiences! Can you offer specific suggestions for additional search functions that would be helpful to you? Here's a recap of current search functions: https://www.ma-shops.com/shops/help.php?lang=en&id=5
I’ve bought from Zurqieh frequently on EBay and the Vcoins shop. Buying from his Ebay site allows easier bargaining. He always reaches a good deal and I’ve never had any problems. The issue with the fake patinas is much discussed on line so you know what your getting if you do a bit of reading and research. Some people like them and they’re easily removed.
I personally would really appreciate a possibility of searching sold coins. Very helpful and offered by many auction sites and VCoins.
jerusalemhadaya2012 is an awful seller. Non stop excuses and lies, waited for over 3 months, didn't receive a thing. He wouldn't refund me, had to ask eBay to step in. I have been on eBay for many years, this is my first experience being numerously lied to. Nothing he says ever comes true. Once the buyer protection period is over he gets to keep your money.

This thread is almost 3 years old, but your point is well taken. I hesitate to order coins from anywhere other than the USA. And often not too many from the USA.
I've had a similar experience with this seller. It's strange. For the past few years his shipments were reliable, originating from Israel. However, over the past several months he's been listing items not in his possession, located in Turkey as far as I can tell. I have four items that have experienced extended delays, one going back to November 28, 2022. I assume they are "off site" so to speak. I was given a tracking number for a shipping logistics firm named AFS. Tracking has not been updated since the number was issued February 2, 2023. Another order, three coins, inexpensive LRB's, have been shipped from Israel, if he has the item, it should be shipped fairly quickly. These are coins that he has in stock. So, I'm giving this process more time, but I will request refunds from eBay, Paypal and my credit card eventually. It's too bad, really. He's been a good source for imitative owls, Roman and Greek coins and bulk lots, although I have noticed that his estimates have increased markedly compared to the earlier years.
Some Ebay sellers people had luck with. Old thread but most are probably still at it. For what it's worth. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/trustworthy-ebay-sellers.377026/
Are the uncleaned lots on eBay generally worth the price? Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275713637908?_trkparms=ni_actn:nav|ni_nt:WATCH_ITEM_ENDING_SOON|ni_apos:1|ni_sg:1|ni_pos:1|ni_st:NEW|ni_wh:1|ni_nid:542488725532|ni_nsid:275713637908|ni_et:1678305445000|ni_bn:1&_trksid=p2380424.m570.l5997 I know that it varies, but I would be suspicious that the seller just removes the best ones and just sends junk.
