(1) The “C” is really “AG” for Augustus St. Gaudens. It appears on the low relief design too. (2) Barber did prepare a pattern coin. I have photos, but I’ll have to scare them up. They might be on the PCGS “Coin Facts” site. I think that it’s in the Smithsonian. Google 1906 $20 pattern by barber.
Disneyland is like going to your first baseball or soccer game with your dad. It's not all bout the Benjamins
Thought about that for a moment. You sre crazy. You probably have a pro for everyone cons. Would put wallets out of bussiness. How do you carry around 200 in cash
When you go the first time, it might be like that. The atmosphere and its reputation are great. The trouble is if you were going there in the 1990s and early 2000s, you have seen it slip a lot. It's far more expensive, and you get a lot less for your money. That might change once this catastrophe is over, and I don't think that I am overstating the situation by using that word. Disney will have to build its crowds up again, and it might take some more attractive pricing to do it. There were actually some Disney management who said disrespectful things about annual pass holders. They figured they could make more money without them. To me that is the height of arrogance. Your dedicated fans keep your business going. As for me, I'm getting too old to be in the line of fire. I feel well, but at my age and lack of antibodies to the current contagion, it might take me a while to come back.
I had a zoo pass bought in buffalo for grandbabies with income tax. Pittsburgh DC Cleveland Boston Bronx etc..oh and buffalo. I do agree with your point. Well statted
I certainly did ...had a blast...met a bunch of the CT guys....bought 2 Saints and a few other coins which in retrospect was a good timing purchase. Looking forward to FUN January 2021, although as of now, Summer FUN is still on. If I visit a friend in July, I might go for 1 day esp. if other CT'ers will be there.
PRICE UPDATE: Wow, a pair of NGC MS62's were sold on GC and each went for mid-10's yesterday. One had over 30 bids from 12 different bidders, which you like to see for accurately reflecting the market (FMV). The other coin only had 2 bids and bidders. I wonder if AU'58's are now well-under $10K including the bp ?
PRICE UPDATE: An MS65 Flat went unwanted for $37,500. I think that price is high but I'll have to check. An MS63 Flat got 1 bid for $15,000 ($16,875 w/bp). An MS63+ Wire didn't get a bid at $16,000. An MS61 Wire for $11,000 ($12,375 w/bp). Some details coins didn't get bids, and a few others MS coins. Next week, an AU50 CAC already has 14 bids and an MS64 CAC has 18 bids, so these coins finish next Sunday and should show some good prices on an AU 50 CAC coin and a 64 CAC.
Some 1907 HR's end tonight. Lots of bidding activity, prices seem to be near FMV with 10+ hours to go. I put in "stink bids" on a few of these when bidding started but was no where near where the bidding will end. Has anybody bought a 1907 High Relief in the last year or so ?
GC has an MS67 HR CAC...current bid @ $90,000. https://www.greatcollections.com/Co...e-MCMVII-High-Relief-Flat-Edge-PCGS-MS-67-CAC That's about as high quality 1907 HR as you will see. I think MS68 is the highest (maybe 1 MS69 ?) so 67+CAC is pretty close. Still 40 days until the auction ends....boy is that along time to wait.
Wow....an MS-65 for $16,500+bp ? Vets, doesn't that sound cheap ? The MS-66 went for a nice price as you get into rarified quality.
I made a typo above...it was an MS-64 1907 High Relief (not an MS-65) that sold for $16,500 without the bp.
