Contrary to @Fred Weinberg I'll make this my first post in this thread. ;)

@Lil ol' me everyone including the experts told Columbus the world was flat. He declined to take their advice.

I say take your hard earned cash, put your money where your mouth is, and go get your million dollar treasure authenticated. This one simple little exercise will either shut everyone else up and they'll eat crow and you can gloat, or conversely it'll shut you up, putting your tail between your legs and you can fade away into the night.

    Simple.

My coin does not look like that. In case you couldn't see the PULLING of the letters evenly while disappearing, don't be so snappy to jump on the bandwagon with wobbly wheels. Cuz eventually those wheels will leave you on the side of the road. Personally - that's too many people to be stuck with

I'm not sure what everybody has missed that I didn't but we will soon find out! Soon as I figure out how much and exactly how to get this thing certified

What grading service would you like to use? I'll look up the information you need to send it in.

Easiest way is to take it to a coin dealer and have him to submit it when he submits coins for authentication/grading. Otherwise you might have to pay to become a member of one of the organizations. The other way would be to send it to an expert like @Fred Weinberg who could authenticate it for you.

The two main grading services also known as TPG's (Third Party Graders) are in no particular order:

    NGC
    PCGS

These TPG's charge for their services. Getting them to authenticate Error Coin submissions is an additional service. Look at their sites, linked above, and follow their instructions. When you receive your coin back from them please post the pix here of the slabbed (holdered coin) or body bag (meaning they refuse to slab the coin because it doesn't fit their guidelines).

I'm sure everyone who posted in your thread will be waiting with baited breath for the results of your submission. I'm also sure everyone will be ready, willing and able to bow to your greatness when your coin is authenticated as a true mint error. I'm also hoping you'll be humbled and willing to admit the vehemence of your denial to accept everyone's honest assessment of your coin was the only true 'error' in this thread.

Whichever way it shakes out this debate will be put to rest.

Truly, good luck receiving the validation you seek.

@Fred Weinberg. I fully understand your decision. I feel like a fool for replying to the OP. (More than once :arghh:).

IF the OP sends it in (which I doubt) and it comes back a damaged coin, they will just claim the TPG didn't know what they're talking about!

Yes, because the OP is only trolling.

    This thread is DEAD.

The letters becoming more faded at the bottom only proves that the coin was ground off. A "struck through grease error" would look very different from your coin, as it usually has a more visible transition.
A rotated die would only involve the obverse being rotated in relation to the reverse, or vice versa. No detail would be missing.

Message to OP: I will echo what everybody else has said with regards to sending the coin to be authenticated (whether at NGC or PCGS- the two largest third party graders).

Everybody's nerves are worth far more than the $35 it would cost to have that tooled/ground penny graded.

Ok. But unless someone is willing to pay for it to be authenticated...yall have to wait just like I do til I get 35 extra $s to give away for a penny that could potentially be -like you guys say- a man altered paper weight. But yes I will send it in and post their findings on here with photos. And if it comes back I'm wrong I will own it. But what do I get(besides my pride) ...neh never mind ...THAT pride will be mucho necessary by then. (was thinking apology) . So..... It's up to y'all. (Sorry it took me long to respond, life was happening)

I don't think any of us are in any big hurry. Quite honestly we know how it will come back, it is really for your peace of mind. Best of luck.

I don't know very much about the mint process nor the different varieties but I do know about people and basic instinct as well as common sense. I am not a politically correct person but I am a glass half full type of chick. So with that being said...
Has anybody ever thought that everyday there are new inventions and crazy discoveries of everything in life. People are always "finding out". So how's come I get ridiculed and "bashed" for being determined to find out what did this because (within a certain degree) there is more than one with a similar foul. I have done more research on this penny than most scholars do in their career. You guys are wrong for being so closed minded and shut down with the idea that there may be a new type of error that nobody knows much about because before me...well children can only learn what they are taught. Nobody has disagreed. So if anybody is upset about this thread being lame or a waste of time - I believe I have more footing than you do. Smh God's people should be ashamed for being so rude to one of his children just the same.
I will keep you updated as for when I send it off n whatnot. Until then...IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY CHILDREN.. - Edited -
