I got this silver certificate today from one of the other tellers at the branch where I work. Seems to be in amazing condition. Probably spent out of someones collection. The 50 star note is the one that I had asked about in one of my recent previous threads. Is it worth keeping in the shape that its in? Also, would anybody have a ballpark value? Thanks everyone.

    great silver cert!

and that 50$ has a run of 3.2 mil. So its really not worth more than 50$

My thanks guys, good to know! I'll be taking it to work with me tomorrow to throw back in my account. Kind of unbelievable that this is the first silver certificate I've found after working at the bank for a year.

I would definitely keep the silver cert. To me, that $50 isn't worth keeping and would be much better served to invest elsewhere in the collection. :)

I've been at my bank now for 15 months and haven't found a silver certificate and I'm one of the ones that goes through the shipments so I see almost all of the money that runs through my branch.

It was my experience that those tend to come in bunches...someone will bring a handful of them in. You won't see any for a long time then 5 will roll in in a stack.
