Trying to get a general idea of what grade this Trade dollar would fall into. Thanks! 1875-CC $1 Trade Obv.jpg 1875-CC $1 Trade Rev.jpg

The coin has lost all of it's skin. Looks like it's starting to tone again.

VF-30 details .... IMHO, the wear's too heavy on Ms. Liberty and the eagle, central devices, to make XF. Let us know what PCGS says ....

Out of curiosity, what's the weight?

VF30/XF40, depending on how generous the TPG is feeling that day. Way too much wear on the eagle's left wing to grade AU, IMHO.

Not my variety, so I'm not an expert, but I question if the coin is actually a fake. The field surfaces just don't look correct to me. Just my observation.

I don't see anything here that screams fake to me...but these coins are commonly faked. To me, the fields look like they have been harshly cleaned and the lighting also isn't great.

Thanks for your input , I bought 20 dollar coins from an employee that had it at their house. It was owned by their grandparents and I thought I bought 20 Morgan dollars but this trade dollar was in the bunch and I believe now I also have a 1895-cc Morgan dollar that's probably cleaned as well since it shares similar aspects of the trade dollar

Your coin is a very scarce die combo - 1/2M. Genuine coins have the tool mark through the "F" on the reverse. Nevertheless, I cannot tell anything else from the images and suggest you get it authenticated.
