Man, you're poppin' that silver! Barbers, too. Ever get any Seated stuff?

Sometimes I really miss detecting. I think my diggin' days are just about done, though I do still have two machines (a Minelab and a Garrett) out in the shed somewhere. I've got minor mobility issues now- can no longer kneel or squat- which would make diggin' difficult, though not impossible.

Eh, who knows, I might yet put the coil to the soil again one day. I sure did love it. It was the only outdoor activity I ever pursued regularly.

What a perfect thread to post my first Coin Star reject tray find, nothing fancy but just the way it happened only yesterday after reading posts of Coin Star reject finds.
Was walking out of my local Stop and Shop after grocery shopping and just decided to look in the reject bin..
A Mass Transit Token last made and sold I think in 2003??
    Thanks everyone for this!!

That's what grandchildren are for. LOL You find it, they dig it. Great way to get them involved in collecting.

Fantastic. What a lot of excellent prizes. Thanks to all!

During these locked-down days, I've had the time to do much that I had either put off or did not have the time for. For instance, not as beautiful as the Longacre cents above, these here I 'found' in a box (maybe sixty coins) of Indian head cents I got possession of from my pop's accumulation of coins.

Well, despite becoming decrepit (specs, denture, need hearing aid and walking stick), I haven't quite crossed that "grandchildren" threshold just yet. (Son is 29 and daughter 18, though, so...)

That is one "old guy" thing I'm actually looking forward to.

Alas, Tardar* Sauce (aka "Grumpy Cat") is no longer with us. She went on to that great litterbox in the sky. Will be immortal on the internet, though.

*No wonder she was grumpy, with that misspelled name.

But we still have Bean the Money Cat, from the intro post. Except he's not all that grumpy.*

*A pile of cash does sometimes help alleviate grumpiness. Sometimes.

Slowly building up the inventory. 8 rolls of Lincoln’s since the taking of the photo. Several World rolls are on their way.

Thanks to the donors and sponsor. Good luck to the entrants.

I have recently dove into my long deseried project of assembling a Washington Quarter set with all die marriages.

Here is lovely purple toned example of the business strike 1960 Quarter with the RDV-002 reverse (which was the proof type reverse)

Here is a lowball National Bank Note from my collection that certainly wouldn't win any beauty contest.

I love that one. I have one that's even worse from my home town.

How bad? I've seen some National Bank Notes that'll make you wonder about how they've survived so long.

There were certainly some donor notes involved with this one

That is undoubtedly one of the better reconstruction jobs I've seen done for a piece of paper money. Much to my Grandfather's dismay, I would've bought it myself if the price was right.

It was not terribly expensive. I could look in my records and tell you. I want to say that it's one of 4 or so known to exist. I was born and raised in Eugene so I wanted it.

Question: What is your favorite United States Denomination to search, and why?

I'm having trouble deciding where to restart, so I haven't. I would appreciate some words of wisdom to point me in a direction that will respark the thrill of the hunt.

I already have cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters waiting on stand-by, since well before the panemic hit.

    Thank you all!
    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Quarters are my favorite......Lots of varieties, chance for W's and relatively easy to re-roll and dump. Next is nickels because many older ones (pre 1960) still out there and War nickels and buffalos show up too. Always fun to find those.

Searching dimes in Upstate NY, I’ve developed an accidental collection of Canadian silver dimes. Need the 42 & 49 so wish me luck

Thanks to all the donors and members

If you don't win the prize lot with the 1942 and 1949 Canadian dimes, and I remember, I'll ask the winner of that lot if it is OK if I switch out those dates with some other, perhaps nicer coins for them, so that you can have the dates you need.

I also have a partial tube of Canadian silver 10c pieces here in which there is are one or two George V pieces, a few George VI, and a handful of QE2s. There is also a Georve VI Newfoundland piece. PM me with any other dates you might need.
