    On the reverse, below AM of AMERICA, it seems there's a nick, but I assumed it was on the plastic and not the coin?

    No its a strike thru.
    I normally dont buy Lincoln cents, the price slabed, the strike thru was pretty cool,and even thro this isn't a date that is rare..I liked it so I purchased it.

    The strike though was identical to the same sort of issue I had on a 1857 Flying eagel cent, that I did purchased from the penny lady at a Whitman show years ago.
    Which I sold to a friend as they like the condition, color, and they needed the date....lol
