This could be a VAM 30 but it is a pretty well worn coin that has been through some tough times. I would need to see more of the reverse doubling to be sure.
I just picked this one up and it starts a little further down the Comitia Americana path for a collection.
Thanks to @MercuryBen I was able to buy back a 1942-S I regretted selling him along with a 1944-S with very similar toning.
First visit to LCS this year. Photos are not good, not all in focus. And not taking them out of the package.
Just a few days ago I posted a 1920-D Lincoln that I meant to send back to the seller, but didn't. While I was waiting to do so, I bid $88 on its replacement and won. So this extra one arrived yesterday. It seems much better than these vendor photos. It's one thing to intentionally use bad photos to hide flaws, but when you actually have a good coin to sell, wouldn't you bring out the best pictures you can? This is what I see. Incidentally, I got a notification for David Lawrence Rare Coins this morning that lists a similar coin for $2000, only it is not as sharply struck. 1920-D 1c PCGS/CAC MS65 RD - Lincoln Cent - Stunning Gem
Beautiful!! It’s odd that my 1920-D has a notch in the nose also. Price guide on the eBay coin is $1450. It sold at Heritage in Feb this year for $1743. Yours definitely has a better strike. The eBay coin looks like it was struck with well used dies. Both your and mine were probably struck early with newer dies, or at least early in the die’s life.
