GTG 1921 Peace Dollar

Howdy folks,

@Morgandude11 just concluded a great GTG thread of a 1921 high relief and I thought I'd follow in their footsteps. This is the last of several coins I'd recently sent out to PCGS for a re-holder and TrueView.

After two of these I seriously cannot tell between high AU and low MS. I am glad I don't collect these because I am sure I would be burned.

I will guess 55.

 

I agree entirely - the '21 high reliefs are particularly tricky, in my opinion.

 

No kidding. The ‘21 is hard to guess. This one looks MS to me. I am going with a 63.

I'm in at... OK, people are grousing about PCGS tightening down, so I'll say 62.

 

Ya never know, after this escapade. Monday, I will be on the phone with customer service. lol

 

I'm liking her. She's probably MS62, MS63 on a real good day. In spite of her several dings, they're mostly evenly distributed, and there's still nice eye movement through her.

 

Yup. Really nice luster, and so many MS Peace dollars have a “dipped in the cat litter box” dull luster.

 

MS62, looks like she was bit by a vampire!

 

I thought silver wasn't supposed to be good for them...?

well I was going to guess 63. I thought PCGS would give it a luster bump.

 

I think PCGS was a point low. Now I'm correct as I said 63.
