thanks...not mine yet, but will be soon. The guys wants $15 for it, so I will more than likely go for it. stainless
Well I think I see tiny touch in the hair on the obverse. On the reverse it looks like it is on the top of the buffalo. I would say this coin has eye appeal and is AU58. Again this is just based off what I think I see in the picture. Even with the little tick at ST in states I like this coin. Very nice Stainless. Never will claim to be an expert at grading - but I can also see where Ruben got his grade.
Whether it's AU or MS doesn't much matter when it comes to the question of purchasing it for $15. It's a good buy.
Nice coin. The only thing that really bothers me are the lines on the obverse. The ones in the hair that run from 2 to 8 o'clock. Am I looking at a fingerprint? If so, that can only get worse with time. Get it now and give it an acetone bath. BTW, I'm going with AU-55 or -58. Note the silvery color on the reverse poking through the toning. On the split tail and the shoulder particularly. Nice strike though. The split tail is particularly strong.
and I disagree with the AU grade. The toning is even in this area of the shoulder. A sign that it is incomplete strike and not wear. That is the highest point of the reverse.
The upper and lower front thigh area I give it an AU58 for the toning/ Still a nice coin. \Jazzcoins joe:smile
The place to look for wear are circled in black. Those are the high points on the rev of a Buff. And yes, it has light wear in those points.
stainless buy it , if you don't want it I'd buy it , beautiful toning , I'd say MS-64 , even if there is slight wear it's worth $15 . rzage
that is a different issue, I believe. It is worth 15 bucks just to take pictures of and put the blown up prints on the walls. Ruben
