No one has mentioned Gov Mint !! Why is this ?
Seems to me Apmex is a bit higher in price than Gov Mint.
US Mint doesn't have the graded stock on hand normally in my experience.
Can someone give me their understanding on Gov Mint please

For me, it's always been coin shows. Usually on the Last day.

I do most of my buying on eBay from people who don't specialize in coins, except for toned coins, those can be from dealers. I also Buy from Facebook groups and members here.

I have the best luck buying from people who don't know what they have. Mentioning to local Gold/Silver bullion dealers that you pay at least a 5% premium over melt for pre-war coins (& that you even buy non-PM coins, medals, & tokens) is a good way to get some leads. I gave out old Krause catalogs I bought in bulk for $5 apiece with my contact info on the inside cover & had good results.

Also, most dealers have some fields that are outside their interest. When a "US only" dealer buys lots, there are sometimes some great foreign coins & tokens to be found in their junk bin.

I have bought and sold with Golden Eagle. They are upfront and fair with their prices. Even if I don't buy from them, I look to see what they buy and sell for and use that as my guide for prices. Also the mint, and several local established coin shops. I have sold on eBay and Craigs list before also, but like nmbsurfer1 says, buyer beware, do your homework - It's all on you.

No good local dealers around and the auctions are usually bulked up with just US currency and foreign stuff they hammer down by the pound. Si Imostly deal online with JM Bullion, APMEX, Provident, Bullion Exchange, etc. Keep an eye out for periodic sales and specials.

I like that most have options to set purchase prices you're looking for and if they're not in-stock, they'll happily email you when that "must have" item shows up.

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

I have never purchased anything from Gov Mint, and from all of the negative comments I've read about them over the years, I doubt that I ever will. ~ Chris

    (1) Big National Shows: I went to FUN and probably blew 80% of my 2020 budget. But everything I wanted (well, 90%) of my 2020 Wishlist was there.

    (2) Regional & Local Shows: I've gone to them a few times a year and they aren't bad places but you won't find everything you want all the time.

    (3) Online: Ebay isn't bad, but Heritage and others are great IF you don't mind paying up. But there's something to be said for finding exactly what you want with a few clicks of a mouse.
