This set was described as 1987...and has 4 10 Yuan Historical Figures...however, i can only find these sets in 5 Yuan for that date. Any help appreciated.
I'm curious because, if assuming these are not legal tender, then why do they have the 10-Yuan denomination? Sometimes private mints issue commemorative sets for sale and then assign a denomination to them to give them an appearance of legitimacy. In your case, I don't know. Sorry.
