Picked this up cheaply last night and described as AU.......a nice note that is probably worth a PMG slab next time I get a few notes together.
This note was engraved and printed by Bradbury Wilkinson located in New Malden Surrey, UK, just a few miles away from my house.
Because it's the US Mint. Apparently, they're afraid to engage the public or is it incompetent like some other parts of the Government.
"Picked this up cheaply last night and described as AU.......a nice note that is probably worth a PMG slab next time I get a few notes together." Those notes are quite pricey graded. Would like to know what you paid for it.
During the 80s while on an extended visit to Spanish Wells, Eleuthera I picked up a large packet of Bahamian currency. They featured different tropical fish on them. Absolutely beautiful. Over the years I gave them away to different women I was dating. I called the Bahamian Embassy to get more notes they responded by asking me a lot of questions then referred me to someone in the Bahamas. I never followed up.
Google must be on a lunch break or attending a BLM rally because it won't respond w/ Bahamian currency from the 80s. Well, it finally returned one image. Actually, this note is kinda oh hum. Others have more color to them.
Bradbury Wilkinson was purchased by American Banknote Co in 1903 and was wholly owned by said company until 1986 when American Banknote started divesting it's businesses. BW&Co was the first printer to print on plastic, in 1983 for Isle of Man £1 notes, preceded the polymer notes printed by Note Printing Australia by several years.
