    Will the value of Confederate restrikes go up or down. Same qustion for civil war proofset.

    The price will fluctuate but these are moder issues so don't expect much from them. They are Modern Civil War Coins, not Civil War Coins. I was expecting something from the early 1860's when I saw your thread title. Big difference.

    I suspect they will trend much like any of the recent commemorative bullion strikes.

    Most of the value in many of these sets comes from the melt value of the gold and silver coins. This 1995 Civil War set has a little collector value, but it's mostly bullion.

    A recent Graysheet quoted this set at $474. The cheapest three gold and silver piece moden set is the 1986 Statue of Liberty set that pegged at $442.

    Don't expect a dealer who might buy this from you to pay $474. It will be 5 to 10 percent below that.
