1970 D Error ? Could anybody tell me if this is DDO? Also what's the gold tone marks on obverse on the "R" of quarter
How do I tell the difference? Ice looked at many pics, read many articles. But when I'm staring at a coin for an hour, it's not as easy to tell the difference.
I wish it wasn't so expensive to have coins looked at. I've got a collection for the last two years and I spend so much time on just about threw them in my regular change jar . I like looking for coins too much, but have no idea what to do with the ones I got or if there's any reason I'm keeping them . I usually stick to pennies. Any advise?

There are a number of forms of doubling that are not Doubled Dies. They all fall under the category of NAV or No Added Value Doubling.
