This one is decidedly non-round because of manufacturing methods. (It will also be eligible as a giveaway prize soon.)

Ancient Judaea: bronze lepton or "Widow's Mite" struck by Alexander Jannaeus, Hasmonean king of Judaea, circa 103-76 BC.
    WM4.jpg

These small and primitive coins circulated in the Holy Land during the time of Christ, and were the subject of the biblical parable of The Widow's Offering (Mark 12:41-44, Luke 21:1-4).

    Obverse: Anchor with inscription.

Reverse: wheel with spokes or 8-pointed star.

Hendin 4th ed. 472. 14x10 mm. This example shows evidence of the way the blank flans were cast in strips, then cut before being struck into coins. Ex- Augustus Coins, 20 May 2020.

    Stork I deliver

Wow, I haven't checked in on this thread in ages (life has been busy and numismatics have been in the backseat for a bit). Looks like the non-round theme has been going on for 4 pages (and nearly a couple weeks). Japan is represented well! Last time I think I posted a gold, here is an Akita Bronze.

And, as it's getting difficult to avoid repeat themes, let's go with pairs or multiples of birds if people are up for a change in theme.
