I have secured some of these coins as an alternative to .999 bullion.

I have read that the demand for 40% silver coins is low because they are difficult and expensive to refine.
Is this true, and do these fall into that class as well?
    Thanks

I have a few canadian silver dollars. They are much less expensive than common date morgan and peace dollars in the same condition, and slightly less expensive than ASEs and maple leafs per ounce of silver content. I think they are a good alternative to bullion coins, but I don't know if the fact that they are 80% silver is detrimental or helpful to their melt value.
