1884 VAM 2A Clashed E Morgan , has some other cool clashing as well. to bad the old ANACS Holder is beat to hell.
The first year of the Type II Standing Liberty Quarters. Three stars were moved under the eagle to make it more central to the reverse. Numerous changes were made to the front, such as moving the olive branch so it no longer overlaps the lettering. There are fewer rivets on the shield; most folks tend to emphasize the clothing of Lady Liberty with chain mail as a pretty big deal. I like the weakly struck date on this one. Although they wore away quickly on both Type I and II SLQ’s, this particular example makes matters worse by having weak strike pressure on the date, the chain denticles from 3:00 to 7:00 positions of the obverse, and weakness on the tops of the UNITED STATES on the reverse. It’s easy to imagine the date disappearing completely with only light circulation.
Nice coin you have. Yeah, you’re probably right? But you could say that about a lot of the walkers? Which is why I don’t mess w/ them . But in that grade, it certainly is. I’ve always thought the 28-S in mid to higher grades is a sleeper?
When this arrives it will complete my 1942 Proof set. This is the sellers image which I cropped, I'll do my own when it arrives.
This Seated Liberty Dime was just delivered, and it is my first mint state of the series. Apologies for the poor image — taken with an iPad.
Just acquired. Got a good price because it's got a very weak date and sold as type only, but otherwise is a nice planchet. I immediately recognized it as an early 1794 from the distance between the top of the hair and LIBERTY. The parallel hair strands limited it to two obverses, 5 and 10. The reverse is almost gone, but there is just enough to eliminate S-29. While S-22 and S-28 are both good candidates, I believe the hair and date positions are indicative of S-28. I actually need common varieties since my focus has been on Rare (R4+ and higher) varieties. I'm anxious to see how strong the edge lettering is.
my newest came on 06/08/2020. I've already posted it to another thread with some questions as to how to tell between business strike and proof.
Could you please show a photo of the holder. I can't find any with the mint mark that looks like your coin.
I posted the PCGS TruView in my birthday thread earlier in the week (https://www.cointalk.com/threads/happy-belated-birthday-to-me.361498/ ) but she showed up in today's mail. For those who either didn't see the earlier thread or just wanted to see what it looks like in hand... and with a little light makes a big difference...
