Hello Everyone and welcome to my 31,000th post celebration thread! :woot:

I detected for 2 days. My first hunt at Brooklyn's Prospect Park yielded a lot of coins but no silver nor anything special except 1 NYC Token.

This morning I did better with a US Silver..

Also found this neat RKO Good Luck Token

Would anyone know what this item could be?
    Maybe a type of Rosette?

Are you going to carry the token for good luck?

Just a guess. How about a neckerchief or scarf slider?

A game marker or carnival token?

I think the handkerchief. Looks too big to be a token to me, imagine carrying a few of those! Looks to be the size of a large cent. Not like many carried tons of those around either :)

My wife says it is a cookie press like @Collecting Nut says. You put it in the tube filled with cookie dough and press it out. Makes small star shaped cookie like for Christmas.

My vote is for a scarf or neckerchief holder. The irregular cutout would keep the material, especially silk, from easily slipping out. It was most likely plated, maybe silver or even gold, depending on age.
The idea that it was an extruder is discounted by me as it is too large and the beaded outside edge would be hell to clean. I have several clay extruders and know that clean up can be challenging.

You never fail to amaze me with your finds @paddyman98. I know you said, "First" but when was the last time you detected that same park?

Ha. Not this token. These two items have been my lucky charms for the past couple of weeks!

I was at Prospect park the Saturday before this past hunt. Thing is that there are many detectorist that go there so it's becoming harder to find good stuff! :(

Been there about 6 times this year. Time for a new place to detect!

Sure wish I lived close enough to join one of your detection hunts. I find a lot of old wagon hardware and old tin cans here in the rural Montana mountains, but no coins or much of value.
