UNC Details Scratched (or could even be seen as graffiti IMO)

that scratch doesn't look deep to me . i'll say 63 + and I like the toning though it looks borderline artificial to me

And the 63 crowd edged out the details crowd by a single vote (9 vs 8). The next closest was 64 with 6 votes.

That was my thinking (at least a scratch and maybe even graffiti). The "X" carved into the left obverse field looks significant to me and really should have led to a details grade. It seems like PCGS let it slide due to the nice toning.

I thought you might take the position that the scratch wasn't enough to detail it given the color. So I was a bit surprised when you voted details. It looks like this is an example where we agree that it is too big regardless of the toning.

I'd buy it if the price were right.

It sold for $930 at auction (not to me).

    Add one to the 64.
A little late to the thread.

Danomite What do you say uh-huh

I’ve seen less as far as the scratch goes and bring details, even on better dates. I wouldn’t crack that one and resubmit.... just me.

I wouldn't either as I think it's beyond maxed (although you never know).

I am in the boat that this coin more suffers from planchet defects than actual damage or bag contact. Therefore the price tag it got.
The coin looks extremely flashy, and original.

This details graded for the scratch in the "L" of LIBERTY, so I'm a little sensitive on the subject right now.
