Wondering if I should pull this out and put it in an air-tite? The gold I'm okay with - the area to the left has me wondering why it toned this way and what the future toning will look like if I keep it in the original packaging. Would appreciate some insight and advice from those with experience with toning coins. Thanks ~ Darryl BTW - The reverse of the dollar is really a great design! IMO
Nice nickle , but toning is so unpredictable , could be something got on the coin , or impurity in the metal , who knows , your dollar is toning great so far . rzage
How awesome would that be if it turns all purple like that. Is that a crack in the plastic that the toning kind of points to? Nice coins!
Darryl... I have seen nickles run the color wheel on the varities of colors that can be found...That is a keeper and if you inspect that film holder from the mint with a strong loop, you may find a pin hole in it that is responsibile for some of that toning. Keep it..let it tone out further. RickieB
