I think it is Thompson obverse 1063 anyway and amphora month I. To the right of the obscure amphora mark at the bottom is a P in an incuse square punch.

Anyone like to check the Obverse I have classified as T 1063 rev New? My obverse die checking skills can be a bit dodgy. There are now 18 instead of 17 Obverses in Thompson's NSSCA, a new one was hound in the Hierapytna Hoard and I shall locate the plate for checking. Have fun.

This coin's symbol denotes Demeas has a connection to Isis cult and not a political symbol of the political faction of the times because a few years later a Demeas appears in the post-Sullan siege world as a 1st magistrate with another coin with an Isis image. This Demeas also could be a son, but it is likely the same one and survived the siege maybe meaning he was a pro-Roman sympathiser too?

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

    NSK,

Wonderful coin. At first, I thought the obverse die more closely matched 1064. In particular, the depth of the mouth seems closer to 1064. Die 1063 seems to have a "deeper" mouth profile - extending inward and downward. It's possible that is a lighting/plaster cast/camera angle anomily. However, 1063 does have the characteristic shape to the left curl of Athena's hair that your coin shares. Difficult. Photos of both below for comparison.

    Thanks for your help,
Yes it is difficult, the gap above the right leg of pegassos is on 1603, the stem of the vine tendril start at the 2nd dot of the helm as in 1063, the gap between the terminals of the 2 feathers at the nape of the neck leaves a gap between the neck...etc but the short pouting lips are a problem. Indeed I cannot see a like in any. It is not the example in the Hierpatyna Hoard anyway. Another NEW OBVERSE?

    Oh my this is difficult.
