Does anyone know what this old copper coin is?

    There's not much detail but there may not have been much in the first place. Hopefully someone will recognize it. It's 28 mm in diameter, copper and quite thin. Thanks, Mike

    How about a George II UK halfpenny?
    (Images not mine)
    The reverse looks, um, reversed, so it could be a contemporary counterfeit. There were many fake coppers in the 1700s.

    This will be a contemporary forgery or evasion of a British halfpenny. The head is in the form of George III but facing the wrong way. Without a date or any writing, difficult to nail down which one, but certainly collectable - particularly in the US where these were some of the earliest circulating coins.

    It looks like a Pre-Confederation Canadian Blacksmith Token. I don't have access to my reference books. Somebody may be able to find it in Charlton's Canadian Colonial Token book

    I would go with Blacksmith token BL-7 to start with.
    The photo of the coin in the book is in the same condition as the posted coin.
