Isaiah ""you should be ashamed, ruining a coin by defacing it."" Isaiah, a tongue in cheek comment or are you serious? You have a perfect right to consider it ruined if you choose. I consider it a small work of art and sacrificing a Franklin....well it's just not ruined in my mind.
Franklin never looked better! :thumb: Awesome Bill! Now, if you could just do something about Hilary? dd: Ribbit
Bill, you should post a video of your next carving on Youtube. I'd love to see how it's done. I was shocked when you told me it takes you about an hour to create one of these masterpieces!
I think that is awesome and if they only take an hour, you should decide how much your time is worth and start selling them. I will buy one for sure.
I must have misunderstood you if I quoted it took a hour to do one, It takes about 6 hours to recarve a franklin half..
Tres Cool CT is probably where I found this link. Same church, different pew regarding this thread. http://homepage.mac.com/johnhuber/CoinRing/PhotoAlbum20.html I may give it a try during the long New England winter. Any ideas about using clad coins? Would they be unworkable? Too hard or soft? The image shows the coins details on the inside. Could it be worked so that the details would be outside and visible? I have a bag full of common date silver quarters so I'd have a huge margin of error. The end result is very nice I think.
If you look at the host coin again you will probably conclude it is counterfeit. Would it make you feel better if Bill recarved a counterfeit coin? (He has done that, by the way.)
