GOBRECHT dollar... real or fake?

    FAKE

    Compare it with the real one, which is on the left:

    Not give too many clues, but the "C. GOBRECHT F" is too big on the fake and the eagle has a new set of feathers. Some of the stars are also missing.

    Those folks making these will be in the cold, cold ground before they'll recognize Arkansas and Michigan.

    I have read the vampires have odd looking fingers. She would definitely suck the life out of you bank account if you gave her the chance.

    Friend of mine said it came from his Dad's estate. Thought I'd ask. I broke the news to him. At first he was still wanting to send it to PCGS just in case, but I think he's convinced now.

    My two fake Gobrecht dollars. I suspect this to be an artificially worn example of one of these, almost certainly the first one. Look at the lines in the shield

    Both of yours have all the reverse stars, though.
