I have taken some photos on my new phone of a few Justinian 1st's I have, but I have no idea on how to post them.
My first ancient coin Solidus of Michael VII - 1071-1078. I want to find something in mint state so bad and in the same time of somewhat fine style, but no luck for now.
Hello, mate. Just when posting a reply see Upload file menu and then give full screen of the image enclosed.
Last acquisition - Steve Buscemi draped and cuirassed bust facing; dead face emoji on the reverse. What I find particularly beautiful about it is the price of 3.50 EUR and the interesting shape. Saw a few others online with the same irregular shape. Tiberius II, Half follis, NIKOB, Sear 443
This came in the mail today and I couldn't be happier. The detail on Christ's face and the green patina are absolutely beautiful! I'm not sure if my Byzantines are "beautiful," but when else will I get a chance to post these unironically? Constans II overstruck on earlier follis. Possibly silvered. Justin II pentanummium. I think. It's wayyyyy tiny. And an unknown Byz coin. I kept it because it looked cool.
I like that pentanummium. The smallest I have so far is just a half follis. Planning on working my way down though.
I will add these two that I won recently from Naumann Auctions..... Constantine IV AV Solidus/ Constantinople Mint Justinian II AV Solidus (First Reign) Constantinople Mint
I started it on a whim, but this thread has had some amazing Byzantine coins and lots of knowledge that has been shared.
Well, better late than never... Over a year ago a purchased a couple of bulk lots of some pretty nice Byzantine bronzes. I got most of them identified and labeled, but not photographed until now, so here are three of them. The coin on the right appears to an over strike of an earlier anonymous follis.
