I write to a seller negative feedbak, because the seller sell me silver coin that was cleaned and the seller not declare on that. After I fill the stars, after that I clik on send feedback, and a new page open with 3 check box, and I have to fill all 3 check box. In the second check box is write if I allow more than 2 weeeks that the coin will arrived, but the coin arrived quickly so I can't feel this check box, and if I can't fill all 3 check box, the page didn't let me to send the negative feedback. Someone in ebay said that the problem is in my browser, so I have to fix the browser. What do you think, did you have a problem like that? Thank you.
honestly, thats not worth a negative. I would simply email him and let him know that it was difficult to tell from the photos that it had been cleaned, and ask for a refund. definitely not worth a negative though.
I send message to the seller but he said That he send me picture (I think large picture , he mean) but it is a lie because the seller can't send me email if he don't know what is my private email. And another thing , the seller don't want to pay me my work for handling and shipping that and my sadness that cost me more than 10 USD. I follow his sales and his items and I see that pepole ( who start to collect coins, and don't understand about cleaned coins) buy from him silver coins , that I think they are cleaned. So why seller like that have to sell cleaned coins without declare on that? He musr get negative feedback, am I right? Thank you.
Has the seller gotten other negative feedbacks for the coins that YOU think are cleaned ? How are you determining that these other buyers are uneducated ? If you are as educated in detecting cleaning why did you buy it if you though it was cleaned ? I agree that it doesnt warrant a negative feedback- The seller could have been ignorant to the fact . I would communicate 1st - get the original refund for the coin plus try to get a refund for your return shipping. If the coin is not worth much it should only be a few dollars to return 1st class with delivery confirmation. That would protect you. By just leaving a negative you are not helping yourself with getting your money back for a coin that you dont want. Return it ,get your refund & then at the most I would leave a Neutral feedback . If the seller does refund you & your cost for the return than there is no reason IMO for a negative. Just dont buy from them again & chalk up your $10 of sadness to a learning experiance & move on. Just my 2 cents, but as seller I used to get so ****ed off when on the odd occasion I would make an honest mistake & get a negative form the buyer with out any type of communication from them. I would rather bend over backwards, admit that it was a mistake, pay all of the fees you want back & grovel for your forgivness than get a negative.
budgood: Perhaps you missed his statement: "the seller don't want to pay me my work for handling and shipping " Altho I am not a big fan of excessive P&H fees, this seems like an impossible request on the buyer's part.
I guess I took that "work" as walking it to the mail box & putting a piece of tape on the envelope -not as the return postage fees- IMO the seller should ALWAYS pay the return postatge if there is a problem that is the seller fault.
As an aside, ebay now has programming in effect that limits the amount of S&H you can charge for some methods of shipping. For instance, I recently had several items that I was going to ship by flat rate priority mail, which is $9.80. Ebay would not accept an entry of anything over $5.00 for the shipping amount. Of course I just left it blank and put the postage amount in the items' descriptions. If you feel a listed S&H amount is excessive, contact the buyer and negotiate a lower amount or an alternate shipping method, or don't buy it. I always consider S&H as part of the total price of the item. It that total is greater than what the item is worth I don't buy it. Sorry for the OT rant; just passing along info...
Let's see... the seller sold you something not as descirbed and refuses to take it back at his own expense. If that's not cause for a negative, I don't know what is. As a practical matter though I'd at least attempt to get your money back first. If you just whip out a negative now he may just decide to not give a refund (or at least deag his feet over it)... would have not much else to lose at that point. It would probably be easier to get your money back, at that point. I do make allowances for honest mistakes... that's what I'd give neutral feedback for. This doesn't sound like an honest mistake to me, especially as he's refusing to pay the return postage.
It has some value, if you look a the negatives and neutrals, and what they got them for. Don't just look at the count and percentages though (though less than 98% positive and I'd think carefully about the seller, depending on what he got negatives for... if it looks like just misunderstandings and/or buyer's remorse, fine, but if he has constant custmoer service issues or a history of slow shipping, sending items not as described and/or refusing to take them back, etc. would stay away). I will concede that buyer's feedback is basically meaningless now that sellers can't leave negatives or neutrals to buyers. I understand why they made that change; they wanted to prevent retalitory feedback (and prevent buyers from being intimidated from leaving sellers deserved negatives or neutrals for fear of getting retalitory feedback), but if a buyer can't get anything but a positive, the feedback they get doesn't mean anything anymore. Having said that, sellers have recourse for non-paying bidders and the kinds of thing that would get a buyer negative feedback would likely get them NARU'd off of eBay eventually anyway.
the ebay pro's know the rules for getting rid of negatives in arbitration and more. My experience with ebay and coins was so bad I'd never go back Ruben
Lets change that a bit to make it a little more accurate. The seller sold you something that you feel is not as described, but which the seller apparently does, and he refuses to take it back at his own expense. No I don't see that as automatically being cause for a negative. Not reimbursing S&H is very commonplace in the industry.
I agree that ebay has rendered feedback worthless nowadays. Move on. OP also asked about this on the ebay board, I guess they didn't like the answers they got over there either. :computer:
