It's a semi-key date due to the low-ish mintage & high melting rate around that time.

Looks like the buyers estimated it to be at least AU55:

It appears to be AU and, if so, that's a reasonable price.
I don't collect Morgans so for all I know it could be a better VAM.
But if you looked at the bidding there was one person who was absolutely going to win that coin.
Newbie caught up in the action maybe?

It is a smooth AU with no big marks. It remains to be seen if it gets a straight grade if it were to be certified. The luster is dull, and the surfaces have been rubbed by something more than circulation.

Cleaned but a nice clash mark on the bridge of Liberty's nose! That may be the appeal.

It is a difficult date, just like all of the 1893, 1894, and 1985s are. It is definitely cleaned—hairlines from cleaning are very visible on the devices on obverse and reverse. I would agree with AU details, and that is why it went for a reasonable price. Try to find a nice looking, certified 1894o at a reasonable price. They can run easily into mid 3 figures.

Looks like a low grade AU. Buyer probably thinks 55-58.

Thanks...my thoughts exactly. I wanted to see where this one would end up, but I didn't give it a second thought otherwise.
