1998 penny d close AM but not sure the color

Hi guys I hope I did good buying my friends coins lol. I got 1998 penny close am but I’m not sure the color. is it good or damage ?

If you look closely you can see the copper coating peeling off of the coin. The white metal underneath is the zinc.

Zinc is not green and laying on the top of the surface. You did a good job cleaning that residue from your coin! Tell Collecting Nut what you used.

 

Hi I didn’t clean these coins last month I clean with bleach all my penny turns to awful color. After that I never clean my coins anymore I just wear a gloves Incase the covid stick the coins. I just adjust the light sir... thank you!

 

My mistake. The first coin you posted has a residue (greenish color) on it. The second coin is nice. I didn't notice they were two different coins.

Bleach is not a good chemical to use on "collector" coins. It works great to disinfect spending money as you are doing. Wear gloves.

Very slight misaligned strike. Not Off-Center.
The issue in the nose is a circulation hit.

An ever so slight MAD, misaligned die strike. Only worth face value.

 

Never use bleach to clean a coin. It reacts badly with metals.

 

And your skin, eyes, nose and mouth!
