For way to many years I have fallen into the great habit of buying what I want for my birthday. Years ago I was given clothes for what seemed like forever. I still get clothes but for years I've also received a coin of my liking. Since today is my birthday I bought this coin. It's an 1824 over various dates. There are a few varieties of 1824 overdates. This is the various varieties. It is believed to be a 1824 over a 2 over a 0. Looking in hand I tend to agree. I can't get it to show but there is a beautiful light blue toning on the reverse. It is mainly on the shield, just above the eagle and on the Eagles claws down into the 50 C. I'm rating her as an F-12, maybe a 15.
Great birthday coin! I really like that blue toning on the shield. Hope your having a happy happy birthday
Thank you. The toning is so much better in hand. The camera shows a little blue but it cones out more as black on film. It's a great day. I'll be BBQing a T-bone tonight with all the fixings. I can't wait.
Very nice present! Hope your birthday is a great one. FYI, my birthday is in July. Please feel free to celebrate with me I like your taste in coin and food
Happy birthday David!!! Love the toning beautiful coin!!! I would love a birthday coin like that any day!!!!
Thank you. Buy yourself a coin and post it. It's well worth the effort. At least you'll get one thing you like.
Thank you. I had a great one! I just noticed I posted this in coin chat and I meant to put it in the error forum.
Why? I see no error on your coin. The overdate creates a variety not an error. It would actually only be an error coin if somehow (grease-fill perhaps?) an example of this die marriage DIDN'T show the overdate. End of rant concerning a pet peeve of mine.
