    That's beautiful. I think if I start digging in my backyard I might find a mosaic made by proto-Romans here in California.;)

    ..hehe...well, i kinda figured out i'd have make it meself(here in Mo.) and i been reckoning on it for quite many a day....i did it kinda with tiles on my front room..^^

    This is all I ever found of a mosaic when I was metal detecting, I was always looking at stuff when I did and found a lot of different things with the eye. It looks like a poor mans version, but I found it myself so that adds to the cool factor for me. IMG_6058mozaic.JPG

    I hope they publish more pictures as they excavate it further. It looks beautiful.

    There are places in the world where finding something like this would be considered very bad. If you were adding a basement/room to your house, the archaeologists would come in and tear your house down looking for more. You would not own what was found. Would the government pay a fair price for the house?
