Today I added new bricks with animal paw prints to the collection..One is undamaged, 34 cm X 22 cm, the other is only part of the brick..
I have seen pictures and videos of people who "mudlark" on the river Thames foreshore. Every once in a while, I believe they even find these Roman bricks with paw prints out there in the English mud.
Love this, galba68! You find some pretty awesome things. Quick question for way down the line, can you purchase bricks like this with cat prints on them? That’s one antiquity I would love to get someday. Erin
Hi John..I bought these from a friend of mine..My friends, also MD hunters, they know I collect Roman bricks with paw prints on it, so, when they find something like this, I usually exchange it for a coins..But, from time to time, this kind of Roman bricks appear at auction houses in America and Europe.. Some from collection..
What an interesting focus of collecting @galba68 !...Cool! How many bricks do you own and have you identified any of the ancient animals?
Man I LOVE your posts @galba68! Those are so fascinating. I get such a kick out of seeing them. Nothing like that over here in the states...
Hi Spaniard..I have 8 bricks..Prints are from cats, dogs, goats, sheeps, lynx!? I gave some bricks to my vet as a gift..
