Once again someone asking for and then arguing professional advice. You gave this excellent explanation to someone else just last week.

Lol ... I did get a few varying opinions on this site but mostly that it was encased . I accept that answer but just feel what’s the harm in having a local coin shop take a look . At least I won’t be surprised by what they tell me . Unfortunately my local coin shop went out of business so I’ll have to find another . I’ll post the results that we ALL expect just to close the subject ASAP :)

Make sure the local dealer is knowledgeable of errors and the minting process. Errors are a niche area of collecting and I’ve seen many dealers in shops and at shows that know very little and don’t have any interest (unless you have 1955 Doubles Die cent). Nothing wrong with that, as dealers, like collectors can’t specialize in everything.

That’s the great thing about Coin Talk, you get a concentration of specialists. You have people who have collected and studied errors for years and are willing to share their knowledge with you. But don’t bother asking them about help figure out the mint of your 6th Century Sasanian coin. But go over to the Ancient board and you’ll have an answer in no time. But there are very few ancient experts who have any interest in US errors. It’s like that with local coin dealers. All are generally knowledgeable of US issues and bullion. Most know something about paper money and world coins. But as you get into more specialized areas, you are less likely to find an expert at the local shop.

    Hope this helps

The 'beveled' area on the edge shows
it's been in a Lucky Penny Holder, as
    numerous other's have said.

And you have now had the same answer from two of the top error coin experts.

Guys .. Jeez , I have no idea who’s who in experts on coin errors on this site . I’m very new to coin collecting & I respect everyone’s “opinions “on this subject which is all I asked for . However I am a trust but verify type of person , it’s just the way I’m wired . It’s nothing personal so call off the attack dogs . I thought this site would be a friendly way of building up knowledge on a subject of which I wanted to learn about but I’ll think twice about posting . Good advice from some but very clicky here .
